Curriculum for Grade K-5
Kindergarten
Kindergarten is an educational approach that conventionally includes activities such as playing, singing, drawing, and practical activities that help nurture social skills.
GRADE 1
In first grade, children are taught the basic fundamentals of Math, basic reading skills and basics of Social Studies, Geography and Science. Basic geometry along with graphing may also be introduced.
GRADE 2
The second grade forms the second layer of the foundation of a child’s primary education. In the second grade, children are usually 7 to 8 years old. Students are taught subjects such as Math, Science, Geography and Social Studies.
GRADE 3
The third grade forms the third year of primary education and students enrolled are typically 8 to 9 years old. Students are introduced to slightly more complex concepts in Math, Science, Social Studies and Reading.
GRADE 4
The fourth grade forms the fourth year of Elementary school and children enrolled are typically 9 to 10 years old. Subjects taught include Math, Science, Reading, Writing and Social Studies.
GRADE 5
Fifth grade is the fifth and final year of Elementary school. Subjects taught in the fifth grade are Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts.

Elementary School Overview
Forest Trail Academy offers accredited online elementary school programs for Kindergarten – 5th Grade levels. Our K-5 Elementary School courses are designed to motivate young ones to acquire the skills which they need for their career start in the early years of education and succeed later in their middle and high school education. The students who are enrolled with us for k5 elementary school programs explore and learn in the early years of education through our engaging online elementary classes.
All our elementary school students have access to an interactive, wider range of coursework while working at their own pace and these k5 elementary courses are flexibly paced too. Students who are ready for the next lesson or unit can move on, and other students who need some more time may take it. This education pattern allows the students to move at the speed that best suits their needs. All our k5 elementary courses are taught by highly qualified teachers.

In keeping with the standards set by the No Child Left Behind Act, this system combines technology with state academic standards to improve student achievement by providing both remediation and instruction.
